Anyone remember playing the arcade game "Gauntlet"?

God I used to love playing that game as a kid, I could'nt wait to get to the mall just to play and watch that game. The music, the voices, the sound effects and of course the graphics and gameplay use to draw me like a moth to flame. I remember spending hours with my best friend playing through level after level.

Does anyone know if there was an ending to that game? Or perhaps a final level or boss to beat? For those who are unfamiliar with the game here's a few screenshots.

Does anyone remember the sequel to Gauntlet on the Amiga? I've been trying to find the name to it, but I can't quite remember the title.

Wasn't it Gauntlet II? Heh.

I'm not sure but I think it was a different title, the game was set outdoors and I think some of the monsters you had to fight were golems. It was different than the typical maze/dungeon Gauntlet game.

I got the arcade machine Gauntlet Dark Legacy. Its 4 players and you can save your characters to make them ultra powerful. That arcade game rocks.

Best character?

Warrior - Strong attack and defense, slow speed, weak magic
Valkyrie - Medium attack, defense, speed, and medium-weak magic
Elf - Medium attack?, Medium-high magic, fast, and weak defense
Wizard - Strong magic, medium-weak attack, medium speed, weak defense

My vote goes to Elf.


btw, I didn't memorize the stats. These are just what i vaguely remember. Please correct me if i'm wrong

Gauntlet is awesome! I have many fond memories of pouring quarters into that machine with 3 other friends at the mall for hours at a time.

Yep, just played it now. Only thing is shooting at a diagonal doesn't work well all the time. You shoot angle, straight, angle, straight so you can't kill as fast. heh heh.
