Anyone remember how crazy internet forums were back in teh 1997-98 timeframe?

I remember "wars," insane posts, mad fanboys, and some unmentionable stuff... anyone have any old war stories? (W/o making things too graphic...)

Yeah, I remember 3DFX fan boys rubbing it in that FFVII wouldn't work with our Riva128s.
