Anyone remember Baby Jessica?

Little baby Jessica fell down a well, I remember that. Must've been a slow news day that day. The best thing that came out of it was a funny early Simpsons episode, "Radio Bart," where he throws a radio down a well and the town tries to rescue it.
 
Looks like the experience took a toll.

Of course I remember it and the tv movie after the fact. I still remember the guy with the water jet demonstrating it and then the other guy telling him that it could hit a fissure in the rock and cut her in half. That would have made for a dramatic end to the incident.
