its clever enough to be entertaining. time magazine had a thing on it a while back, not all its claims are facts of course. the ending is a cop out of course. and the extreme feminist female worship bs is about as disgusting as male superiorty cr@p.

The honoring of the feminine is a pretty old thing. Many of the pagan religions had women at the center. ;)

well yea many things are old and still bs.

Word. I think it makes a bit more sense than the oppressive male society, but religion is just oogy to me.

well there are oppressive female societies. mostly where women are slutty and so men find it better to help raise their sisters children, atleast then they know some of their genes are being passed on;)

Sounds kinda kinky, and not in a fun way.

It was allright, but nothing new for me.

Off course it didn't help that the author said in an interview that he couldn't put the fact that jesus didn't really die on the cross and had children with Mary Magdalene. I'm jewish, and I still know that's crap.

I have it on mp3. It was a fun "read" on my recent roadtrip.
It sorta desintegrates at the end though. The conclusion doesn't justify all the suspense.

IIRC, the "facts" in the book are a mixture of true historical facts as well as fiction...
Would someone correct me if I'm wrong?

I don't know if anything from that time period is historical fact.

Like what, Prey? :p One of the worst books I've read. I enjoy Steven Segal movies because they're a decent way to pass ~90 minutes, especially if under the influence of something mind-altering... but not when translated into ~500 pages of text :|

Common knowledge? Phi, maybe. Da Vinci's lifestyle, maybe. But the two ancient Egyptian Gods of fertility? Emon and Ilislea (or something like that), and how it lead to the word horny? That was cool. I'm pretty well-read, but I've learned a lot of interesting facts from the book. Yes, the way they're thrown in is kind of contrived, but I know why he's doing it and I like that he's doing it.

Story line's not bad, although it's a bit difficult sometimes ot keep connected with all the names and faces with the 2 or 3 disconnected subplots (or is it all 1 subplot?). It hasn't come together for me yet (Chapter 55), so hopefully it'll all make sense later.
