It's supposed to give spammers a ton of useless e-mail addresses to make it less worthwhile for them to scan the web for addresses. There's tons of them all over the Internet. Apparantly they don't help a lot. You just got unlucky that the random string of characters they used happened to be your e-mail address. I'm sure they'll take it off if you ask them, but apparantly the damage is already done.
