I never got suckered into buying a LCD. I've never noticed a bit of ghosting with my crt, and until the same can be said about lcd's, I believe I'll steer clear.

I, like most of the other people who have gotten LCDs, probably won't be going back to CRT. I game regularly and I don't have any problems. I have a Viewsonic VP121B btw. The colors maybe aren't as rich as a CRTs, but the crispness more than makes up for it. The pros outweigh the cons imo.

I totally wanted a pair of LCD's for dual monitor action but couldnt justify the price for saving desktop space.. So I got a pair of 19 inchers instead.

LCD are way too expensive IMO so Im sticking with CRT. I dislike the inverted colors when you are at an angle on an LCD. I believe the Viewsonic p95f+b is one of the best 19 inch CRT's available and if someone could direct me to the best 19 CRT then it would be greatly appreciated.

$299 cheap ultrabright 21" fd trinitron that can do 1600x1200 @ 100Hz beats a cheapo dim 15" LCD that does 1024x768 @ 75Hz ANYDAY
:) my reasoning for getting CRT

Ditto. Until there is a LCD that can compete with CRTs for gaming, I'm not even remotely interested in LCDs.

Well most people don't look at their monitor from an angle. Not counting the fact that with a CRT, looking at it from an angle, usually will give you a nice glare reflection off the glass.

I do agree that LCD's are still overpriced. But am tired of other people on these boards saying they suck, as they do NOT suck. I love mine.

...but at $1199 US it is still a bit too steep to replace my 21" Nokia 440 Pro $400 CRT monitor.

But even with this really nice LCD, you still have that problem with color accuracy.

Like jliechty said, the LCDs still kinda suck for work that requires super accurate colors and proper black-level reproduction. For the majority of users, LCDs are great, but the CRT will probably linger for quite some on the desks of digital content creators. Which is why I never quite understood Mac going all LCD a while back, considering the bulk of their user base is involved in DCC work. Maybe they figured most of those people were buying really nice aftermarket CRTs instead of the Apple CRTs anyway, so what the heck?
