Anyone playing the Colin McRae Rally 04 demo, if so what do you think?

I was just thinking of downloading the demo and wanted to get some feedback from those who have played it.

I don't really like how the car handles (there's only the one car available). Fish tails all over the place, you'd think your rear tires had a teflon coating. I'm a lot better at RalliSport Challenge. Then I tend to like arcade racers, not sims. Not sure what category this game falls under.

Graphics look good, and it runs well at 1600x1200.

I think it's worth the download if you're interested in rally racing. It's not my favorite so far but others seem to like it more than me.

Well, since CMR4 is a sim, this explains your reaction. Learn to drive properly (ie. in Rally driving you want to set up your corners/turns so that you attain max. speed on exit ... "point and squirt" driving, aka deep braking in, does not work well) and you will better appreciate this sim. CMR4 presents two big improvement over previous CMR titles ... new, much-improved car physics - no more do you feel as if the car is rotating around a central pivot point - and vastly better graphics. Together, this makes CMR4 the best in the genre at this time, and definitely worth upgrading to, even from CMR3 (which I found disappointing in terms of improvement over CMR2).

Still waiting on Burns' sim, but this is already shaping up to be the best year ever for PC rally fans. Many new converts too, as open wheel sims decline and their fans pang for any sort of new action OTHER than CRAPCAR.

Takes time to learn to handle the cars, just remember to pick manual transmission and when you're starting out, use default car setups. Also, you'll need to learn to slow down a lot if you've been playing other racings games recently, this one is a bit more realistic. I loved the demo and I think it was pretty cool

Excellent game. I can't wait until the full version is released. It's a shame you can only drive the Citroen.
