Anyone playing Lineage?

I must say that I am not impressed with it. There is no role-playing, it's all about the level hunting, all characters look the same. What's funny is that I am addicted to it because I installed it from the Maximum PC CD and I got a month free.

The game world has no mystery to it. I enjoyed traveling Britainia for the sake of travelling and checking out all the sites and history, but lineage doesn't have any of that appeal.

I was reallty expecting more from Lord British.

I got it free with a computer game magazine also, but haven't installed it yet. As I understand it, this game is HUGE in Korea. How similar is it to Diablo 2 (my current addiction)?

I got it from computer gaming world magazine. I'm waiting until after my last final today to try it out.

I like D2 better, but I am slowly getting more into it... Sometimes I see people going around with Korean symbols above the char :), There are definitely a lot of Koreans on there!

He didn't create the game, he's just using his name to help market it in the US and grab some cash.

Perhaps he'll use that cash to create something new and interesting, but who knows?

This game was really choppy for me. Really bad also... I uninstalled it.

DaveSimmons - True, albeit the backing of Richard Garriot is why I tried it in the first place...

I am actually starting to become very addicted to it... Just grouped with some really cool people, and now that I am a little more powerful and
can have a lil more fun too. I think the game picks up when you are level 25 and you can take part in sieges.

Which is why I've been resisting all of the online games so far :) I can only squeeze in at most 6 hours/week of gaming right now, so I don't have time to stay online and build a super-character.

Maybe after I'm done watching the Buffy repeats on FX :) (Watching them in a short space of time highlights some great writing and continuity / character development, at least until this season.)
