Anyone Playing CoD: World at War yet?

Thinking of picking it up today, but I already have Left4Dead pre-ordered and Brothers in Arms not finished yet. Just curious about initial impressions.

the game itself is totally different from beta, the graphic is good, smooth game play... my favorite mission so far is the
"enemey at the gate" fountain scene. snipe the germans when the bombers flew over... nice touch.

i'm running it on 8800 gt, vista x64, 4 gig ram.....

I'm afraid to play it as I would just inevitably make yet another Call of Duty movie, for which I have no time to do.

i love the historical cut scenes.... and the fact that they added more pacific missions.

i was happy when they made Medal of Honor: pacific assault, until i actually played it, i got sick of playing the same blend/look the same missions and quit half way.

there are more variety with this one.

Can't decide to pick this up or Fallout 3. I keep checking Best Buy's "Pick-Up at store" availability. This morning no one had it, but it shows up in a few near me, not yet at the one I want to go to.

I pre-order all games I think I want at Gamestop and then if i decide against it, i just transfer the credit to another game. On the fence w/ this one.

I heard the beta was really bad. Granted it was the beta version but there was a lot of talk about it. Waiting to see what others say about the gold version first before I buy.

It needed a patch right away, at least from the Beta to the final release. I'm glad they jumped on it and got one out the first day.. kudo's to them

Oh, and my copy is front of me, but I'm still at work.. can't wait to get home and install this mutha!

It's a great game, but I'm not into "going back to WW2" theme. I liked the modern warfare in COD4 and they should have probably continued with that. The single player campaign is just beautiful as it always was in COD, but always fighting germans is starting to become boring. I'd love to see a WW1 shooter, as someone else on this forums pointed out. At least I'll kill germans dressed in other clothes. 😛 WW2 it has been played everywhere for too much. Enough with it!
Oh and the multiplayer is fantastic, of course. 🙂

Not sure trench warfare would make for an interesting shooter.

That's WWI 😛 either way this title should be worth a play when it's on sale for $40 at BB or something.

Arrows FTW!!!!

COD:WAW... not sure. waiting to hear more on it. Beta was okay.

Its a pretty good game. I'm glad they went back to WWII. When COD4 came out I wasn't to sure if I'd like the whole modern stuff, but I did love it. I would love to see the next go to Vietnam,.. I love that era of war equipment.

True, they should definitely make the next COD set in Vietnam. Jungle warfare and napalm make for a good game. 😀

Has there ever been a game about the Korean War? Just a thought..

After blowing some money on the stock market...I have to decide to either get Fall Out 3 or COD World at war. It's tough because all my clan mates are playing COD but Fall Out 3 would be a new experience for me...with christmas coming no less.
