Anyone play the Urban Terror Mod for Q3?

This mod is the only one that made me dust off my q3 CD and reinstall it. You can find the site here. Has anyone elseplayed this? Thoughts?

Ya know, I tried it and couldn't get very excited about it. The overall look and feel is kinda cartoony despite the Q3 engine being vastly superior visually to the CS "engine". I think it could be great if someone actually put as much time into it as Goose did with CS, but as it stands it feels like a half-finished product. No real structure to the maps...just run around a shoot stuff.

yeah i love the guns... it would rule if they made it like CS.. hte maps have great graphics.. and it's ironic cuz i say the same thing "seems to cartoonish"

another good game comeing out is "true combat" for quake 3

but CS does take em all... it would be sweet if the CS team down the road uses the UT or Quake3 or even doom 3 way down the line 🙂

I use to play it all the time. I started playing it when it first came out. Now Beta 2 is out and I really don't like it all that much.

Isn't CS/HL etc based on a pimped-out Q1 engine anyway? Wonder if they'll every bump it up to the Q3 engine...maybe for the oft-fabled CS-2? I've heard rumors this is in the works....but you never know with CS gossip; they're almost as bad as the "what f*cked up stuff is Anne Heche doing this week?" rumors.

I've just started playing UBT just because some friends have gotten into it. It's decent, but it's not CS! UBT also runs slowww on my P2-450/Radeon 32DDR combo. I run it at 640x480@32 with 4x FSAA and everything else turned off, whereas with CS, I run at 1024x768@32 with everything turned on.

Urban Terror is _my_ game now. I don't play CS nearly as much anymore in favor of UT. I'm getting into competition now with my clan and we do pretty well on the servers whenever we join. My other co-captain just bought a new machine and DSL, we'll be rocking pretty hard as soon as we start playing on OGL.

me and some friends of mine are heavy into rogue spear and my firend heard about it and we started playing it. I like it. some of those maps are hard cause we play a lot of free for all.

CS(HL) and TO(UT--Unreal Tournament) is better. If you haven't played TO 2.0 yet, you are missing out on some awesome realistic looking maps.
