Was curious to know if anyone here plays the game

I really liked that game but none of my gaming friends did so I finally canceled my account. I had Hibs on Palomides and Albys on Galahad. I may reactivate since Horizons is dieing and after 5 years EQ just doesn't do much for me anymore.

albs on all the servers are owning the relics. It's nothing but whines from mids and hibs on vnboards. ah the never ending QQ.

I think alb gala has all the relics too.

The tri-realm/relic 'feature' is flawed. I liked the idea at launch but after playing for awhile I realized that population can drive the 'winning side' due to sheer numbers. On one server the Albs might be winning because they outnumber the other two sides 3:1. On another server it might be the Mids who are in the driver's seat due to the same thing.

That and the fact that the devs seemed a lot more willing to add PvE content than PvP.

Did you miss the last major expansion/patch called Frontiers? Its worth reactivating for, even if just for one month to check it out. They completely overhauled the PvP system.

they haven't added pve since TOA and from the looks of it they will be tweaking and adding to rvr more.

Play mid/merlin. Getting pretty fed up with scouts shooting me for 1k at +2500 units.

I quit last month b/c I don;t have the time but NF is freakin awesome. Now you can level throught he battle grounds by fighting other people. you don't even have to PvE anymore, to me that's cool.

Thats where I was too.

Yeah, I'm satisfied that they nerfed berserkers claiming they were 'too powerful', thus making them even weaker than rouge classes. It was GREAT! GOOD JOB MYTHIC! People put tons of time into their characters, then oops! Berserkers cant hold their own in RvR anymore.

I never tried it. Both people who like it and people who don't have told me that if I don't like pvp I probably won't like it at high levels.. Since I have a lot of time to invest, I'd get to high levels no problem - and I hate pvp. I'm waiting on WoW, which hopefully will hold me over till Vanguard is released. Being a Blizzard game it will likely have a lot of the 12 year old crowd that EQ has attracted the past two years or so, but at least Blizzard can code. Sony cannot.

zerkers still do insane damage. We had 3 healer groups running 2 zerks with celerity owning everything in sight.. and yes they use 2h.

they are toning down the range in the next patch for all archers anyway.

Played right when it fist came out but stopped after 6mo or so. Now i'm just waiting for WoW to come out.

I liked it when I played but it just got old faster than I was expecting.

You might like PvP in DAoC though. The other realm players are really like highly intelligent NPC's since you cannot communicate with them and they can't loot your stuff. There is none of the cyber punk gangsta rap taunting etc that made PvP in UO so annoying.

WoW is great so far, I love questing in it. :beer: unfortuately, due to the cost associated with MMORPGs, I probably wont play it after it's on the market. House > Online Gaming

Not that I don't hate the taunting aspect of it (kills the ability to pretend they're not 12 year olds) but I just don't go for it in general.. not my thing. Everquest as it was before the Planes of Power expansion on non-PvP servers was perfect for me. It's unfortunate that Sony focused its greedy eyes on its online entertainment division and ruined the game
