Just wondering if anyone knows of a good deal this weekend. Hot deals has been insanely slow with regard to laptops (although it looks like there was a april flurry if you do a search)

So what gives?

Look through the notebook section, a lot of the time people post deals there in response to someones thread about searching for a good laptop deal. :)

I'm willing to spend up to 1200. I'm actually looking for two. One of them I'm concerned with size and will easily sacrifice speed for it (I'm going to be riding a bike to school each day and it'll be a fifteen minute ride, so I'm not interested in carrying heavy stuff) but I would like to stay under 800. The other I am much more concerned with raw speed, and it will be used to do some heavy simluations that suck all it can get (I'm already planning on popping in two gig sticks) but I HAVE to have a laptop because of the limitations; this one I'm willing to spend up to 1200 alone not including the ram.

I saw dell has a great deal for 500...but its a 14inch screen in a 15 chasis...that is just too weird

if CC is credit card...yes ;) If it is circuity city, yes as well. The only thing is I get the feeling the CC has a bunch of hot deal ebay hawks because they always seem to be out of those good deals. But it is worth a try :)

Yep, just bought a Macbook. With a student or government discount its the best combo of price/specs/performance that I have seen. Runs about all binaries you would ever find and it s small package to boot.
