Anyone own the Shure EC2 headphones?

I know I've seen them discussed here but a search turned up nothing????

Anyways, I lost one of my silicon earbud cushions for my Sony earbuds. I may just get some replacement cushions but was just curious to see how much some of the Shure EC2 would be. One thing I noticed was that they have foam cushions instead of silicon. Is that right? How are they?

Best Buy sells them for ~100 but I know I can get them online for a bit cheaper. Any recommended online places to get them for a good price?
Thanks for any info.

www.Amazon.com - They come with foam cushions as well as these rubber/silicon cushions. Three or so different sizes. There are 6 or 9 buds total.

I have the E3cs and they are amazing. But they don't get enough use so they're up for sale now.

I hear the E2cs are great as well.

I have the E2C, which I think what you are referring to, and they're great. I have both foam and silicon covers, but I haven't used the foam yet. I got mine used and they've been great. I like that they are noise-cancelling, but also quite small. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

They are not noise-cancelling. They are in fact, noise-isolating. Noise cancellation refers to the implimentation of active electronics to destructively interfere with ambient noise. Noise isolation is a passive dampening of the ambient noise. Just FYI.

The E2C is OK, but the Shure IEM's don't really get any bass until the E4C series. The Altec Lansing IM-716 is quite a nice package for 70$ on amazon. Supposedly its success comes from its implimentation of materials used in the Etymotic Research ER-4P IEM that costs quite a bit more.

They are ok, the bass is pretty weak so if you like bass I would look at something else. Mids and Highs are good though, a bit too good for MP3 players because if you have anything under 256k you WILL hear the encoding. (Maybe 192 if you do a good job.)

And for me, they HURT. I'm the lucky 1 out of 20 that can't use in-ear phones, I had to make my own foam covers and even then I can't have them in for too long. 1-2 hours MAX, after that my ears feel like someone is jabbing them with an ice pick.
