What are you talking about? Like replica LOTR swords? I have some military stuff but the care for it's a bit different than new stuff. Basically you don't do anything to it :) Just keep it dry to keep it from rusting, there are some oils you can use to protect it if that's your thing.

Linky That's what I really want right now. Just don't have the $$$ :(

I have lots of swords in Everquest. Sword of Skyfire, Wurmslayer and several other things up for sale. Send a message to Slikine on Bertoxxulous.

Okay, seriously... no, I don't own any swords. :)

While I don't have any guns yet.... I do have one Katana, and one Wakisashi(sp?) on a nice wooden stand. They are plain looking but sharp.

I might get a broadsword next.....

Cheers,

Denix, Marto, and CAS Iberia really can't be considered 'real sword.'
These folks make some relatively cheap swords that are more 'battle worthy'

Kris Cutlery

Not to be too terribly rude, but about 99% of those 'swords' modeled after TV shows and/or movies are just wall hangers not meant to be played with.

Anyhow, for the few I use, I just have some Remington 'Rem Oil' gun oil that I spray on then wipe off.

A good sword will actually not be stainless steel therefore will need polishing/cleaning, so keep that in mind.

i dont 'battle' with them.... they are used for display.

i don't think i'd be able to walk around the streets of new york with a katana hilt on my back... this is the year 2002... not 1902

this is though. Did you read the whole thread?

This is LIKE her's, though her dad gave it to her, so I;m guessing it's a REAL sword. (USMC) I carried one just like it while in the CORPS.

Talking to and reading about a few Marines, all of whom were/are NCOs, the USMC swords are still only for dress and presentation.

The USMC officer swords are made by Wilkinson over in good 'ole England. Now, the USMC NCO swords were of Army design, and I am not sure who and where produces those.

Nevertheless, still an honor to be issued such a weapon.

I have a Scottish claymore.... you can get a replica which can be sharpen for $50 or so from Ebay easily....
A good conversation piece....

But don't try to pick up chicks with it in the park especially if you're wearing a tunic... you'd get youself arrested.
(I knew some freaks who insisted on wearing period cloth when they want to carry the sword....)
