I know guys running 300 HP through the stock clutch and tranny. Yes second gear is not as strong as we would like it, but if you take care of it and use the clutch properly the tranny will last.

its funny he asks for a price and an opinion from rsx owners and he got a few hundred wrx vs. rsx opinions from a bunch of morons who can't follow directions.

luckily, i'll follow the moron route as well and say:

get the new mercedes E-class!!! oh baby what a car...

For all I know, you might be a grandma who doesn't know your head from your arse, so i'll help you out.

Other great cars in the less than $500,000 class:

Hummer H2
CL 3.2 Type S
Nissan Skyline
BMW M5
Lancer Evo
Anything Saturn... they used to make the most feel-good commercials...

Best thought of all: Get a used Chevy Caprice and give the difference to charity.

I think "WRX is better" is an opinion about the RSX...

NA vs FI... NA to me is always more dependable then FI down the road

4wd vs FWD.. 4wd wins.

So if your want FI and sudden boost in speed, get the WRX.
If you want a dependable, quick coupe, pick the RSX.

I am not saying the WRX is not dependable, but i am bias against FI cars.

Why are you biased against FI cars? It is like saying you are biased against jelly donuts.

Bah...say that about 'Vette owners...a man would have to be pretty secure in himself to drive something so "cute"

Yo,
Out here in the SF Bay Area we had heavy rains on Wednesday and Thursday nights (November 6th and 7th). When I drove to work the usual way, along John Muir Boulevard which is the south border of Lake Merced in San Francisco, I came upon a pretty big pond of standing water.

In the middle of it was a beautiful silver 2002 Acura RSX, with water half way up to the driver side window.

Figure it belonged to a clown rice rocket fellow that attempted to drive through and killed his engine.

Now that his car is really f--cked, I'm sure he'll probably try and sell it via Ebay and the classifieds.

As they said in the Tom Cruise film Risky Business, "Who's the U-Boat commander?"

If I could mod the front lights (tri-lamps maybe), I'd get the WRX hands down without hesitation. I used to be in love with the RSX until I read more on the WRX.

LMAO!

the RSX is funky but if you do get RSX, DO NOT spend money on the Acura Factory Performance Package, it's useless. The car will looks ricey but the worse is that it wont increase any HP, but slightly better handling which wont be useful until you do some autocrossing.
Subaru is reliable, if they are not they wont win that many WRC championship.

Real men drive minivans.

What better way to proclaim your undeniable virility than having a vanful of munchkins and a roof rack? :D

For the record, I can drive the family van better than most riceboy import tweakers handle their Civics. And if you don't think that's impressive, you haven't tried powersliding in a '94 MPV. :Q

I stated that the RSX lacked in the bang for the buck factor and listed why. I'm not a WRX fanboy. I'll take a few other cars before that one, like I said: I like the heavy+torquey setups. 4200LBs isn't that much when you have 270+Lb/ft of torque for a few thousand RPMs that happen to be where you cruise in.

yeah .. the tri-lamp is really nice looking, make the WRX looks macho.
That and gold-color wheels will really make your WRX stands out, but please dont throw a huge $#$ wing at the back though.

<riceboy> but OMG don't you know that a spoiler will add 12HP and cut 0.243 off your quarter-mile? </riceboy>

go for a big triple-decker whaletail :D ... or else my riced-out "MPV Type R" will 0wnz0r j00. :D

Personally, I prefer the WRX to the RSX - in performance and in looks. I'm way more likely to rally drive than street race.

I graduate from college in June and the first thing I am going to buy is an RSX. Silver or Blue, with allow rims and the lowering trim body kit things (Factory Pre-Painted from Honda, no immitation crap).
