It's fun to drive i'll tell you that, but the ride is pretty rough especially if you live in a pothole laden city like Houston :disgust:

Just say no. WRX is better in every way :) I'm not trying to be a dick but why do you want an RSX?

I'm with Skoorb, more power with WRX. Come on, do you want to be beaten by Dodge Neon SR/T,? I'm shopping for a car too but with STi coming next year I think i'll wait for it, or maybe i'll just get 2000 S4.

It kinda looks better than the WRX but the WRX wagon and RSX are the same price. In the WRX you get not only AWD, which never hurts, but also an extra 27 horsepower. Looks aside for me that is just too much to discount. 27 horsepower through 4 wheels. It's a bad, bad boy!!

As for looks, check out this page for fixs, scroll all-the-way down for headlight conversions.
Like Skoorb says, WRX is a bad, bad boy!!! Go for test drive dude then you'll understand what we mean.

Although the WRX only has 27HP on the RSX, it has about a second and a half in the quarter. The WRX's torque curve has more usable horsepower. The WRX and SRT-4 are in a different class as the RSX, Celica, Eclipse, and the Turbo Beetle when it comes to getting the perfomance to show. low 14's vs. mid 15's aren't odvious when you look at the car's specs, they are when you're looking at the car's taillights.

Personally, I wouldn't get any of them since I'm a guy who likes the heavy+torquey packages. But the RSX clearly lags in the bang for the buck area.

Yeah plus launching the WRX is a no brainer. Rev the sucker up and drop the clutch and watch that AWD handle the rest :D Transmission loves it too :Q

Well my gf has a rsx type-s and she got it for 23,900 Out the door, not bad if u ask me. Its no comparison between the WRX and the RSX, but acura vs subaru.... Acura Wins

NA vs FI... NA to me is always more dependable then FI down the road

4wd vs FWD.. 4wd wins.

So if your want FI and sudden boost in speed, get the WRX.
If you want a dependable, quick coupe, pick the RSX.

I am not saying the WRX is not dependable, but i am bias against FI cars.

i agree with you that the wrx outperforms the rsx but man, it's a car that fell out of the ugly tree.

Subaru has an exceptional record of reliability. A Turbo is not as reliable as an NA, but that's one tiny part of the car that is more than made up for with the increase in horsepower and the awd IMO.

Got a base for $22.5k w/automatic, all-weather mats, Karr alarm, wheel locks, mudguards, "polish" and big fat California taxes...this was months back when they were harder to find though so you can get much better prices w/the 2003's coming out
because i'm looking into getting one.
Don't
and if you do have one, how do you like it?
I don't...rather, I didn't... not fun enough, not fast enough, not enough car for the price. You're paying for the dependability/increased demand that the ricers give this car
No problem ;)

Where are you getting these numbers from?
WRX - mid 14's
RSX - low 15's

Anyhow, in real driving, don't you think your quarter time is pretty worthless compared to your 30-60 or 60-90 time? If you don't believe, I'll take you for a ride sometime in my crappy old Honda with only 153 ft-lb's of torque :)

dude you guys really need to get your heads outta your asses

HP/QUARTER MILE TIMES DO NOT MEAN EVERYTHING!!!!~

for the love of god would you rather drive a POS 89 crx that can run 12's or a carrera4 that runs 13's? (pulled numbers outta my ass, you get the point)

the wrx is fun to drive, so is the rsx

the wrx wins because powerwise easily

looks is subjective, i think the rsx looks better, but once again that's just me

driveability wise, meh; i think the acura is more fun to drive personall and i like the feel better in the seat, not to mention i think the shifter kicks ass (i mean c'mon, it's a honda ;))

drive both and go with whichever one feels better

and bomberman is just po'd cuz he got an automatic ;)

Yes I'm PO'd cuz I got the auto :|

Anyhow, you really can't ddecide it with numbers or anything like that because there's just way too many criteria to deal with...style, comfort, convenience, speed, handling, practicality, etc.

Figure out what's most important to you and compare the cars you want based on that...and be sure...

When I originally bought the RSX, I thought the convenience of the auto in California traffic was more important to me than being faster than 99% of the other cars on the road. After a few months of driving, I found out I was wrong. Now I know I would trade all the stop and go time M-F for just those 1 or 2 hours on the weekend when I can scream down Grizzly Peak or PCH or the Marin Headlands (top down of course).

PCH is so overrated =P

When I put a payment down on the new WRX STI the dealer said it would be here in April. Take that with a grain of salt. Also Subaru redid the styling.

If you are at all concerned about the longevity of the vehicle, do a search on the transmission difficulties associated with our fanboys' WRX. I don't care for either car, but if I had no other choice, I'd definately not go with the WRX.
