Anyone own an Acura MDX?

Don't personally have one, but two of our family friends have them. They love their MDXes. One is a doctor who has put 35k+ a year on it and he loves it.

It's praised pretty consistently by the press. I agree with most people that the current nose is hideous, but it has excellent engineering.

We have an 05 pilot. The difference between the pilot and the MDX, the pilot used regular fuel and the MDX needed the more expensive stuff for a measly 15 more hp out of the same engine.
No thanks on that alone.

My rents own a 2004 MDX. Solid vehicle and well built.

New one's no idea, but I hear they are equally as good, but HOLY CRAP expensive 🙁

It is black, and already showing me how fast it shows every smudge and speck of dirt. She wants to wash it today, despite the threat of rain, so maybe I will grab a few pics after we get done.

It is really easy to get over the exterior look when you get inside of it. Very nice cabin, despite the 50 buttons.

My boss has one. I drive it frequently, 2004 one iirc. Its pretty big and comfortable. 2004 one had about 240hp and it has enough "go" for a big car. The newer ones have around 300hp which should be a huge increase. Design wise, I think the newer one looks pretty good. Supposedly its one of the better suv's in its comparable class/range.

I had a 2003 MDX. The interior was interesting. I had a 99 Lexus GS300 and the MDX was very similar to it in layout except maybe 2 levels lower in terms of quality. The transmission on the MDX was quite nice in that it didn't hunt for gears and knew exactly what you wanted to do. The GS's transmission was terrible in that regard. The MDX did have a recall on the transmission though so I would be wary of any older MDXes. The one thing I disliked about the MDX was the brakes. The brakes were terrible. There was a lot of fade even though the brakes felt predictable.

I drove the new MDX and it seems faster than the older one and the interior was more high tech but I didn't spend enough time in it to give a qualified review.
