just wondering what you people who have actually driven the car for awhile think about it

i'm currently driving a 2001 honda accord which is a nice drive but it's not really fun to drive and im thinking about doing a trade in for something sportier and for about the same price tag

Haven't driven one, but I just think there are better cars out there for the money.

Focus SVT and Sentra SE-R Spec V being a second. For a couple grand more, a WRX would decimate them all.

CELICA????? c'mon.. you can do better than that.

what kind of budget are you thinking? i think the gt-s goes for around 22k, what about going for the v6 accord coupe, or a nissan altima.. if those aren't sporty enough what about the nissan spec v? cheaper than the celica, with better performance and i can speak first hand about it being sporty and fun to drive.

I'd prefer a 200 HP Acura RSX-S to a Celica. Of course I've been embittered by Toyota's service, so I doubt I'll be buying a Toyota car again any time soon.

hmm...im not too hot with how the wrx looks although i know it's performance kicks ass
i'll stay away from the ford too thank you 🙂

i don't think i'd want to trade from a honda accord to an accord coupe 😉

unfortunately i think my options would be pretty limited as well...i'm not the one exactly paying for this, and my dad so far has been a strictly toyota guy (the exception being my honda accord)

is the nissan a sedan?

the price for the type-S gets up there...and i'm strictly looking for an automatic transmission (another reason why my options are kinda limited)

i would have picked up an Integra instead of the Accord back in the day if I could get one of GS-R or Type R engines with an automatic 😉

im not much of a racer, i don't like to be bothered with stuff like shifting gears 😀

lol @ rallispec, i was just looking at the thread before i made my new thread...and i was wondering if i'd get a response from you 😉

hmm what are the price ranges for the VWs? sorry i haven't done much research outside of the celica cuz of my dad's toyota bias 😉

Auto huh?

Then definitely look into the GTi 1.8t w/ the auto tranny. The celica will be DOG SLOW with an auto. The turbo in the veedub mates very well to a slush box.

hmm... well i think that puts the gt-s and the spec v out the question, i know the spec v is only avaible in a 6spd, i think its the same with the gt-s.

you could still get a regular Sentra Se-R... its also really nice and really sporty. Automatic too. 🙂

Duh, the Accord coupe would not be the slightest bit different from behind the wheel. Good call 😉.

Now you're mixing Nissan in there? Woah, I think you should slow down! (Yes, all Sentras in the US are 4 doors.)

That said, I stand by my recommendation and the Acura (Honda) RSX-S. Nice looking cars, powerful, sporty, and pretty efficient.

EDIT: Uh-oh, we have manual transmission doubter. Oh well. Can't help you now. 😛

lol sorry guys, i probably killed the thread when i stated that i don't drive stick 😉

but yeah i was considering the Celica GT-S because it comes in an automatic with sport shift

do you guys think it would be worth getting an RSX base model? i'm not too hot with the styling...tho 🙂

Dude, if you don't like the RSX, then don't buy it. I'm only twisting your arm here, not holding a gun to your head! 😉

If your dad has a strong Toyota bias, I have a feeling he's not exactly going to be impressed with Volkswagen. I have a strong Honda bias, and I know I'm not impressed by VW cars (too unreliable on average to be so expensive).

hehe...ok so i guess the rsx is off my list, nice interior (love the red lighting scheme) but exterior styling got worse from the previous generation 🙂
