Anyone own a Sony MZ-R70 MD player/recorder?

Hey folks.
UPS finally decided to deliver my MD player.
Im liking it so far.
But having some starting issues.

I have a livedrive 2 IR on a Live value card, (which is supposed to not be fully supported).
Well I started to record an MP3 from winamp through the optical cable connection on the Sb live to the optical in on the MD player. I was recording a 60minute MP3 recording live DJ set, with no track breaks, just straight-through.
Well first time it got about 8 minutes into it and then when I look over the MD is off. Completely and it stopped recording.
So I turn off recording sync, and set it up again. This time it got about 15mins into it. Then it quit.
I have not had the time yet to try analog. Or to set recording levels manually.
But has anyone had experience with this, any input is appreciated. :)

Are you sure a signal is coming out of the optical output on your Live!Drive IR???

If there isn't a red light coming out, that means no signal is going through to the Live!Drive IR. It should be automatic... as in you shouldn't have to mess around with any settings to get it working. But that's on a normal Live! card... I heard that the Value card is missing some pissings. But even so, there should be a digital signal going to the IR drive.

Try going into your settings in the software in your system tray, and look for a checkbox with the line "enable digital output" next to it. Make sure that's checked. Or depending on the wording.. unchecked.

edit: forgot to mention, even if there is a redlight coming out, still check the "digital output" settings...

Yup, it records perfectly for like 10 minutes.
The red light is coming out fine.
I left a third recording when I left for work.
But I set the settings to only output digital signal.
Ill see if that makes a difference on lunch.
The Sb live value is said by creative that it does not work.
Only the headphones and the optical jacks work.
