Mazda3...

did you even read the fvcking thread...dumbass

Okay, let me make it more clear to you. In my opinion, the Mazda3 hatchback is a superior car to the Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix, as a direct competitor.

he doesn't get free money for mazdas

My dad has a GM credit card and has built a nice amount that can be used for a discount...thats why I cant consider any other brand besides GM

You might wanna check out the HHR, if you like that kinda vehicle.

thats a goofy looking car...will check it out tho. I read somewhere that its very cheap to own(whatever that means)

went to a chevy dealer today...they didnt have any pontiacs so I still have to check out the vibe.

I saw the HHR, it looked pretty good in person and it was in a weird brown-orange color but it looked good on the car...they only had the floor model though so no test drive. Checked out the cobalt since that was fairly cheap but they didnt have any 5 speeds in stock, but what they had were pretty nice. I wanna test drive a 5 speed though.

What I'm really looking for is something cheap and reliable for than fun-to-drive. No fun driving for me cause I'm poor :(

Oh, and I saw an aveo 5dr. Damn...that motherfvcker is UGLY.

Mom has an 03' Vibe with about 50,000 miles. No problems what so ever. Bought the AWD drive version, and it has horrible acceleration, but Mom doesn't mind. She likes it's gas milage, it's reliable, and for Michigan winters it performs very well. She also gardens alot, and the back is very rugged. It's taken alot of abuse with soil, tools, and other things.

'06 Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon all the way. Won Gold IIS safety award this year (along with Civic).

For the same price as the Matrix you get AWD, all the safety features, a 173hp engine, all standard for <$19k.

My father worked for a GM company and he had a discount as well, I still couldn't find anything I wanted there. I drove a Matrix and for the money you just don't get all that plus (plus the engine is terribly underpowered).

How about the SAAB 9-2X AWD? It's the same car as the Subaru Impreza and SAAB is a GM company so you'd get a discount. (Or any of the other SAAB cars for that matteR)

Umm...why would you go to a Chevy dealership if you were looking for a Pontiac? Same parent company? Yes (GM) Same company? No.

Would you go to a Dodge dealership looking for a Mercedes? Same principle.

In any case, I was looking at the Vibe for awhile. Never test drove it or anything, though. I have '04 Cavalier LS that is used mainly for driving ~50 miles each way for work. I rarely drive it excep for commuting to work, so I haven't seriously considered a new car. I think the Vibe looks decent enough, though.

Don't have one, but work with someone who has one. We use it to ride in to lunch fairly frequently.

Surprisingly spacious little vehicle, especially with the seats folded down. His doesn't have much power either, but he said he gets about 28mpg around town which isn't too shabby since he has the A/C on all the time. I've found myself thinking long and hard about getting one (or something of similar ilk) for my next vehicle. I miss the hauling space of my truck, but I don't miss its mileage. For my daily commute I need a vehicle that gets good city mileage. If only they made a Toyota Card . . . I'd be all over that.
