They're $200 this weekend, just re-read Anand's review, just can't pull the trigger.
Holy shit, was browsing CrackBerry's Playbook forums, they should be $75...
why?
This price cut is too late for me. RIM is late to the party with the price drop. Now there are plenty of cheap tablet options. I would've been willing to put up with the Playbook and its shortcomings months ago but not now. There are better options now for the same or even cheaper price. Touchpad, Kindle Fire, and Nook tablet are all better options IMO. We should soon see discounted Android Tegra2 tablets like the Transformer, Iconia, Thrive, etc in the $200s soon.
If you dont feel like re-reading all the other threads heres a stripped down consensus of opinions:
Hardware and OS are superior to anything out there, but the lack of basic apps and weak market and the already overcrowded tablet world means this sucker is too little, too late. In fact they are unofficially canning this project and moving on to other things, much like HP and the Touchpad.
Touchpad launched directly into iPad's market, with fewer features. I think this was a mistake, especially lacking any truly killer features or apps on launch day. That's too bad and another one bites the dust. The playbook and touchpad could have been great, but the support for them were really poor.
