we make disposable boards.. use a A4 paper and write out the letters of alphabet and write the numbers from 0 - 9.

Put a Yes, No & Maybe on the bottom. A spacebar icon can be added too.

Then use a Quarter as your "device". You will need a minimum of 3 people to do it properly. I am not going to give instructions because this is a public forum and there maybe people who may try it. I would rather not be guilty for any sort of problems this will cause. If you try this you are on your own. I am not taking any responsiblity and nor is the owners of this forum.

Oujia boards can be dangerous. I have personally seen and felt the force that it exerts. Be careful its no joke playing with spirits you can get them angry and hence haunt the area. If you are going to do it in a public locaiton for safety sake. If your calling someone make sure its someone you know who is a good person by heart. Mind you its only accurate upto the 2nd character maximum 3rd character. its better for yes / no / maybe questions.

Let me just say I thought I was a believer and then I questioned my "thoughts" to someone (possibly my sister) and it got so mad that even after letting go of the device it still kept moving.

Spirits, departed souls or what ever you call it exists among us guiding us thorough our life. However I am not sure what causes this subconcious movements. Is it something to do with the earth's magnetic field or somethign else supernatural. What ever it is be very careful cause it can do some strange things.

Its been years since I did it. The last time I tried it was at school. Unfortunately my classmates kept butting in thru the window (we closed the door) and basically thoguh we had contact the fact is that because of a few non belivers and the added complexity of having a public area I stopped it and destroyed teh board.

I am sorry if you dont believe me. I dont care if you do or do not believe me and if you ridicule me for it I still dont care. I know what I saw and felt and that's the strongest emotional contact I have ever held with something out of this world.

Just to say that this is real. Back in India we misplaced our handheld video games. A huge collection. Among teh questions we asked our friends mom (who had recently passed away) was where was the video games. It gave "god".. turned out it was in teh back of the "Godrej" (its a brandname steel closet in india). We also asked the name of her "first son". It said "hit...." I didnt know the sons name and it turned out to be Hitler her son's first name. We had just come back from a party and we asked the parties baby's name. My brother and our friend didnt know the baby's first name. But it spelt "neh..." for "neha". Mind you my brother nor our friend had their eyes open or did they know teh orientation of the board layout.

All I can say that this is some powerful black magic your getting into. Be aware I nor anandtech or anand himself will take responsibliy if you do something that you shouldnt have. I warn you. This is some scary stuff and I suggest you stay away. This is no game. Its not for kids and definately not for the non believer or a person who thinks its a game.

As an adolescent I scared the bejesus out of my Sister and her friend one day. They'd been hanging out in her room for a few hours and I decided it was time to bother them. I walked over and listened and it was super quiet, not a peep. This was like 4pm or so, not sleep time. So, I just drumed on the door pretty loud with the bottom side of my fists. I heard the loudest screams of terror I'd ever heard out of them. I was like, WTF?!! Then they opened the door and my Sister explained they were using the Ouija board. I had a good laugh.

Some of you might think the spirit guided me to annoy them in such a way, but, it was common place for me to be a bastard like that at that age. And I just got lucky. :p

I bought one in the fall of last year. Had it in the room. Used the board as a mouse pad for a while (optical mouse). About that time a lot of bad stuff starting happening. Among them being hitting a deer with our car, people getting sick, the christmas tree in our dorm room shaking endlessly all night. So I boxed it up, and gave it to the girls down the hall. I took it home at the end of the year.

I haven't opened it since.

lol... that was smart. :p
Some demons were sending you death threats while you were fragging away in counterstrike. Or maybe they just provided you with some l337 skillz? ;)

Unfortunately I saw no change in my game play. ;) I'll try it again this year and try summoning l33t spirits of the netherword to inhabit my mouse.

i have had one for a few years, when i was younger, my grandma wouldn't let me play with it in her house. The few times i really did try it...in all seriousness....what i asked and questioned and the answers that it gave me really came true! No joke. These were not general questions either, they were specific and personal. I am not one to believe this kind of stuff but it really freaked me out, and perhaps, all it may be is you mind channeling its energy and what not, but still, the experiences were cool

I played around with one with some friends about 10 years ago. What I noticed was that it could only answer questions that someone with their hands on it already knew. You don't realize it, but you are actually moving the pointer thing. If you know the answer to the question you are asking, then you expect it to go to the first letter of the word, so you sort of push it there without even realizing it.

It's still a lot of fun to play with.

i used one once in my friends house, which was supposedly haunted, it was me, him and his little bro using it, we started asking some questions, no big thing, it gave answers, then it started getting kinda weird with the answers, so we let go of it, and the thing continued to move on it's own as we talked amongst ourselves, we were freaked out. another interesting thing, this same oujia board was thrown into their fireplace about 2 years later after his sister used it and same thing happened, next morning, there was the board, still intact, not a scratch on it, so no, i will never use one. This was also an original, hand #'d one if that matters.

don't be too quick to dismiss good_guy. things like that have happened to a lot of people, even ones who don't want to believe... I, for one, will *never* use one of those things

To those of you who say the thing kept moving after you took your hands off it. Do you mean everyone took their hands off, it was stationary, then it started moving by itself?
