i've been looking at g35's and well honeslty the m45 seems to be a great bang for the buck.

i love the styling of 03-04's and i was wondering what everyone's thoughts are.

mpg are just off by 2 according to EPA. v8 340hp to v6 260-280hp. having a more rare car would be nice.

thoughts, impressions? reviews?

bigger so performance is not exactly better. It takes the frame and engine from a Q45.

I didn't like it too much when it came out (I love the current one), but it IS cheap. 2 MPG may not seem like much, but it will come out to bite you later (I think it uses premium also).

I'd also expect it to handle like a boat similar to my I30

It would be perfect if you want to be different, maintenance might be ?? because it's stay was short lived

My brother-in-law has a newer one ('07 I think) and he loves it. He said he can't find any flaws with it. I don't know what kind of mileage he gets though.

well a little bout my car, i have a 98 maxima, i put prem in it all the time as it suggested 91+ same for the I30. mines is lowered so it doesn't handle like a boat and even when i had it stock i felt it wasn't a boat. so my thoughts probaly differ from yours.

maintence i was wondering. i read a couple post of oil burning issues.

2mpg might or might not matter to me. but a yearly cost of 2mpg should cost me sub $600 difference pending gas remains near $5-6

The redesign is significantly different in the handling (we had a '96 I30t which is on par with your 98 maxima) before. They increased the wheelbase and power by a fair margin which causes alot more torque steer.
It's not that bad, but it could be better.

M45 is RWD so that may change the characteristics

the m45 i was looking at, didn't turned out that great. i knew a friend of a friend of a tech at the dealership who informed me of that car has a particular oil burning issue. The price is what i want and the car is what i want but i'm not getting into it. back to my hunt for a g35/m45

Ironically, just this morning I read a article commending the value of that car. It has a shorter wheelbase than G35/I30 and it's claimed to do 100kmh in 6's

If you can stomach the gas, I'd say go for M45
If you want to be different, I'd say go for a M45

any chance you can link me to the article or say where it is.

wheel base is the same or really close, the m45 is longer by a lot..

main problem is finding them, i want a local one looking for one is harder. its a matter of which one i can locate first. blk/blk with very minimal wear and tear and sub 60k at my price.

Honestly, I think it's one of the ugliest cars on the planet. It is a performance bargain though in the used luxury sedan market. I test drove one a couple summers ago with very low mileage on it and the asking price was only about $20k. Fuel economy is abysmal though...I mean fucking atrocious. Expect the equivalent of the city mileage of a fullsize SUV except it requires premium gas. The one I test drove listed 15mpg average when I punched it up on the on board computer.

I too think it is a very unique looking car. Much more tastful than the current M- which is just an extended G with Gundam-like taillights. If it had a V6 instead I probably would jump in for one.
