Anyone own a Hitachi Ultravision LCD?

My plan has been to buy a tv this month for quite awhile. I went around town checking out the prices at various shops and found a pretty nice close out price on the 42" Hitachi Ultravision 710 series. $1639 including the matching tv stand. These are on closeout due to the new models coming out and I figure if a major retailer is selling these tvs with the stand at prices comparable to online prices then its more than likely a decent deal.

I'm just wondering if any of you have this TV at home and what kind of opinions you have on it. I'm upgrading from a 27" WEGA so I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with it either way.

I don't own one but two of my buddies have the exact one your looking at & they are really nice, including the stand $1639 is a decent price too.

I know it's only 720P but I need a new TV and I need an HDTV for my 360. A friend of mine has the 60ish" version of this TV but I don't really feel comfortable comparing the two. I've always felt larger LCDs suck at non-digital content and that's a pretty big concern for me since not every program is broadcast in HD. But then we're getting into a discussion of general technology and not specifically focusing on the 42V710.
