I spotted a 5-series wagon the other day, so I decided to check ebay to see what they are gong for. I was surprised to see used car prices cratering so much. 01' 525 with less than 100k miles for around $7000.
I have 85' Merc 300D and have wanted a wagon in the same series, but these guys want 5-7k for one in good shape. + the youngest of that series is almost 25 yrs old. I wonder how much longer the rest of the car is going to last.
Seems to me the 5-series is a no brainer. It's going to be lightyears ahead of the W123 Merc.
I've been pretty impressed with my brothers E36 M3, and i've read nothing but good things about the E39. Some have called it the best ones they've made, but I want some real owner opinions.
Also interested in the 4.4L v8 of the 540. That looks like it would be a monster.
