Anyone out there using US Robotics turbo g router or any USR/Linksys WRT54G?

I have been searching and reading (for months), trying to find out who is making the best wireless G for home. I have read and studied charts all over the internet and could probably make a decent arguement for or against just about any product on the market. So, I thought I would try to get some input from Anandtech Forums and see how the people who use them, like them.

First I was considering the Linksys WRT54G but was held back by some things I read...
1. Not the best signal especilly as distance grows.
2. Signal drops and often disconnects.
3. Does not support repeating.
4. Hard to install properly.
5. Support techs hard to understand, because of heavy accents.
6. Weak security, at least not as it should be.
7. One year warranty.

Then I thought the US Robotics Turbo G 8054 looked good till I read...
1. Basicly no support, not responsive, no toll free numbers, won't answer E-Mail.
2. The method they use to get the speed they get is not part of the G standard and therefore does not have to be supported with new equipment by other Mftr's.
3. There isn't much info on them because they aren't near as popular as D-Link or Linksys, so there aren't to many reviews etc. (could be also, because they didn't enter this market till June 03).
4. Not that easy to install either.

So you may be wondering why USR over Linksys. Well for me, it is really just what I keep hearing about their thuroughput and distance. According to just about everything I've read they are far and above other G's of similar makeup and cost in signal strength and speed. I also have read their security is much better. Output distance, speed and security are mainly why I'm considering USR, maybe that isn't all I should consider tho, so if I could hear from some of you who know, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, JAWS

Get anything based on the Atheros A/B/G chipset as that does 108Mbps (90Mbps effective) and is better than the LinkSys which is Broadcom chipset based. NetGear and DLink both use Atheros.
