I've got the demo. Graphics are impressive, but I'm not too thrilled with the gameplay - The tackle animations are too slow and unrealistic. When a player is tackled, there is a good 3-4 seconds that he is immobilized. I find it very frustrating - maybe they fixed it in the final version?

I got it and really like it. My only complaint is that the button configuration does not seem to work. Even though I changed it and it displays the new configuration, it is still the same during gameplay.

I need to figure out how to stop sucking at this game.

I can hardly ever get close enough for a goal, yet the people who I play whoop me good.

I don't have a gamepad, but when I tried out FIFA 2002 it seemed like the computer AI for your defenders was real stupid. The computer opponent would always swoop in for breakaways against your goalie.

I'm not a soccer fan, but it just didn't have the feel of authentic soccer, 1-0, 2-1 affairs. I chalked it up as a typical EA sports title. How different is FIFA 2003?

Should I have given it more practice with a gamepad for a fair evaluation? I don't mind exciting games that deviate from reality, but stupid AI defenders and insane goal scoring just didn't impress me.

FIFA 2003 is more realistic, imo. The passes and the overall gameplay feels more like real soccer.

But I still have a tough time reconditioning myself to drop old habits and get used to the new buttons. (I got mine for GameCube, and I can't switch around the buttons.)
