Anyone out there a residential appraiser?

I have some questions, I am starting my own appraisal/inspection business. I was just told that I couldnt have a business that does both appraisals and inspections, because it was a conflict of interest? Ever heard that before?

They're both in the business of trying to prove value but for different sides of the loan (Money) process. I'd be surprised to see of any actual laws on any books but mainly a conflict in the minds of people.

I could see a conflict if I had anything to do with the selling of the house, ie. the realtor, or if I owned the house or was buying it. I am a neutral party in all cases and cannot see where a conflict of interest would be? If I inspected the house, I would know even more about the appraisal. I would think, but what do i know?
