Anyone order from Newegg?

I hope I did not make a mistake... I ordered 2 harddrives I saw on PriceGrabber for $125 a piece. The link was to Newegg. I read the reviews and asked a friend and the response was positive about Newegg. But, just in case I called to verify that my, " MAXTOR Quiet Drive 80GB 7200RPM Model # 6L080L4 - OEM, DRIVE ONLY DiamondMax PS D740X Plus Series Ultra ATA133/100, 2MB Cache Buffer, 3 Year Manufacturer Warranty QUIET DRIVE - "L" denotes Fluid Dynamic Bearing Motors Model#: MX6L080L4 " was in stock.
"OOOHHHHH YES, We have plenty of them." So I order... About an hour later I see that the Maxtor is gone from Pricegrabber.com. I check my e-mail for conformation of the order. We have had a problem verifying your billing address, please fill out this form............

Did I make a mistake with this purchase? Are they going to fk me? That's what I am thinking.

So, I fill out the form, and I get a confirnmation almost immediately that my card has been charged for "X" amount of dollars. So, fine, I think. I hope I get the right stuff... But what makes me most afraid is the disclaimer at the bottom of the charge confirmation. Here is a copy....

"...FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE ONLY" WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? 'Thanks for being a customer, oh by the way, we dont make any kind of guarantees that what we charged you is the price, but we will let you know after you get the stuff. And if you dont want whatever it is that we send you, then you can pay to ship it back. Thanks for shopping Newegg...'

The first time they made known to me that their prices were only a convenience to me, and not ACTUALLY the price.

Or, perhaps they just need to cover their ass? 🙂 any comentary?

newegg is one of the best and one of the cheapest and as such their prices may fluctuate a little bit as the market fluctuates, notably ram lol,but they are usually right on on price

Just check your order on their homepage...

It'll tell you if there was a problem anywhere along the way.

I have nothing but good things to say about them so far. Have ordered quite a bit of stuff from them (usually just a little bit of stuff frequently). Great prices. Only thing that bugs me sometime is the shipping delay. Can take a day or two to send out. Mwave is my 2nd choice, and have always had great success with them shipping something when I order it. If I order something with 2nd day shipping before 4, it'll be here in 2 days everytime. From Newegg, I've had waits of 36 hours before it's shipped out. Last night at 3am I placed an order with Newegg and they shipped it out this afternoon, hooray 🙂 Have never had a problem with returns either (although I've only done it once).

COOL COOL COOL Just double checking. I have heard nothing but good, so now I can sleep knowing that I have done everything I can to spend every last dollar I have on things I probably didnt need anyway. Thank you, and good night.

Yep, no worries. I have only ordered 2 things from them, but the first was perfect, and the second shipped the next morning after a late night order... due in Fri or monday.

ordered pretty much 3 complete systems from them, always been quick about it. i like that the have real-time or at least close to it stock info. approved my RMA quickly too (8kta3 wouldn't boot at all).

yes..newegg is Elite 🙂 You can calmly go to bed and dont have to worry about anything...probably the best pc parts online retailer there is...

One funny thing...the last time i ordered a $1 microphone and this $0.69 (sixtynine cents🙂 ) scroll mouse.... both parts came in this huuuuuuuuuuge boxes, each separate 🙂 Kinda funny....dumping a ton of the foam peanuts out to find the cheap $1 microphone burried deep inside 🙂

i'm a newegg b!tch...

i've ordered over 5000 dollars worth of junk over the past year. Not one complaint. They rock!

ordered from newegg a couple times already, and planning on ordering a printer from them within a couple weeks. nothing but top-notch service for me, and all the friends i have that order from them. shipping was on time and i got everything i asked for (a decent sized order at about 10-12 items). dont judge them by this one mistake, problems are bound to happen for someone that orders from a big company, especially with as many orders as they get. good luck with getting your drive though....
