Just curious, I'm thinking about it.

Any schools that come reccomended? How much does it Cost?
Also any information on the type of salary to expect after school to different jobs you can do would be excellent.

I think it would be interesting thing to do now that I'm done with my bachelors.

:)

I haven't been as a student... but the Culinary Institute of NY in NYC cooked up some nice food. Very nummy...

You might want to look into a hotel management program as part of your bachelors so you don't have to be "just a chef."

I was in a school that had a Culinary program, I really thought about switching degrees...

The program cost $10K for a 1 year program, somewhat expensive.

My friend is a student at the Culinary Institute of America in NY. He is paying about $60,000 for his entire education (about 2 years). He said it's pretty cool. He gets to learn a lot of cool stuff. Plus, they give each students a set of cool-looking knives.

He said that they have externship programs that you can join and work with chefs already in business. You can pick from many restaurants around the world. That should give you a cool experience. However, be warned, though. He said that at his school there are no fine girls.

The other caveat: you'd better really like working out or you'll end up fat as hell with all the food you have to eat every day in the course of your education at CIA.

So sayeth a friend of mine who went there and now works at a swanky restaurant here in Atlanta.

Also, you might want to consider that most people like to eat on Fridays and Saturdays, so you'll never have weekends free. But people always need food, so I doubt you'll get laid off anytime soon.
