In a word no. You may want to pick up a 8500 instead though while the prices are so low before they are gone.

How would you know that they won't o/c well? Do you have one in hand to prove it??

i have a Radeon 9000. it scored around 7600 on the 3dmark2000 benchmark. this is with an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ processor and only 128mb Ram. i think the cards ok, cheap too.

Are you sure that was on 3dmark2000 not 3dmark2001??? Cause I got 5500 with my old 32mb radeon le and 10000 with my GF2 pro.....The gf2 pro could only get 5000 in 3dmark2k1....so that card likely could only get 4000....

All my scores above were on a 1.4 tbird "c".....

That card should be cheap!!!

No I don't have one. However I have 3 reasons for thinking they won't overclock well. 1) I have read quite a few reviews on them. Hard OCP actually got a decent overclock but that didn't even bring it up to a radeon 8500 level, so do you consider that a good overclock? Most other reviews I read did not reach the same levels as did hard ocp. 2) These are value cards. The ram they put in it will be cheap to keep costs down and thus will not overclock well. There may be some exceptions since other manufactures will be making it. Gainward for example will probably have a golden sample. 3) There is not much room to overclock on this chip on the .15 micron. Once it goes to .13 micron you will get much better results.

So in summary no I do not know that these cards will not overclock well. But even if they do overclock well in mhz they are still slower then a radeon 8500 at default, and I don't consider that a good overclock.
