Anyone notice Trump took it easy on the USWNST?

So the M.O. of Trump as stated by White House staff when Trump is hit he hits back twice as hard. Megan Rapinoe said during an interview she isn't going to that "fucking White House". She also said none of her teammates she discussed it with are going either. The only hit from Trump was "they need to win first". Also he's been off and on again about an invite for the team.

Remember the Golden State Warriors? Steph Curry said he wasn't inclined to visit the WH. Trump revoked the invite for the entire team. He calls black players sons of bitches. He's used all kinds of names for other teams who had players that didn't want to give Trump a photo op.

Why the hands off treatment for the women? He's hasen't called them names either. Wonder why he is taking it easy on them?
 
Rapino put up so he shut up? IDK.

What I do know is that he would have shit talked them if they lost the match.
 
It's a lose/lose for Trump if he smack talked the women's team.

IMO it's more of a desire to not say anything mostly because the alternative is to congratulate the team in a public way.

He lost face to them when they turned their backs on him and there's no way he's going to grovel to get them to show up, especially if he has to make things about them rather than himself.

I don't get the lose-lose. The teams that Trump trashed were all champions just like the women. NFL, NBA, etc.

He's fucking afraid of them. He knows they'll skewer his ass to the wall if he tries something now. They're national heroes to boot, something he'll never be.

The US women's national team fucking conquered the world. By the quarterfinals it was the USA versus 7 European teams. The ladies stand with their boots on the necks of the vanquished, and that includes Trump's. Europe was tamed. Trump doesn't dare even bring it up. The ladies will not appear with him. Trump's the loser on this one. He's picking on 4 colored congresswomen instead (all US citizens), asking them to leave the country because they have the nerve to be critical. The man is shameless.

Not really sure what you're referring to, but allow me to clarify what I think you meant.

I based my opinion on how Trump specifically handled the Women's soccer team's choice of refusing to give him the opportunity to share in their limelight should they win the cup. He already lost this tiff he involved himself in when the women's team won and won in grand fashion. That he has remained silent (other than the obligatory generic 'well done" he previously issued ) makes him look petty, vindictive and thin skinned, of which he is already notoriously known for.

If he comes out swinging again on the women's team post-victory, he'd look like he was choking on a bunch of sour grapes so he surely would come out the loser again.

Rapinoe is one of those women.
If he would attack them/the team, people/public would question his "patriotism", (attacking the United Sates World Cup Champs),
it becomes a lose-lose situation for him.

I don't think that would be an issue at all. He's already declaring other women unAmerican, and look at right wingers that were saying exactly that (they were un patriotic and not real Americans) about the USWNT the entire time.

There's a very obvious difference here.

Just did a news search on USWNST. Looks like most of the trending stories are about some Christian player and her refusal to wear a Pride jersey.

I think the final conclusion is that such people never had any kind of morality to begin with. They just hide behind their perceived god, declare themselves moral by default, and whatever they do or believe is justified by the acceptance of their god for any and all behavior, because they just need to love their god and their god will love them back.

...basically no different than your typical jihadist.

Not all. The starting left back defender is African American (Crystal Dunn). And was a hero on the field. She well defended Diani, the stellar right attacker of France. But she was the exception, and AFAIK, the only one not white, or close to it.

They are a national team and as such they represent all of America vs the rest of the world. NFL/NBA/etc. the champions don't represent America the way a national team does.

That said, I'm actually a little surprised that Trump didn't still go on the attack. Political calculus doesn't apply to him when it comes to his supporters, and they all hate the USWNST now. You know, because they aren't patriotic enough to worship our wanna-be dictator.

I think his handlers temporarily changed his phone password by adding a "5" for the ~4 hours that he could remember there was a World Cup and then changed it back before he noticed.

I noticed the American fans who went to Paris and the ones who showed up at the parade were predominately white. If I saw it I know Trump saw it so he decided to mute his normal response. The team has not been invited and usually Trump Trump will tweet that. My $.02
