Anyone notice more ads from Facebook lately?

First off, you should use uBlock. It uses fewer resources. Second, the ad blockers work by using list subscriptions. The default subscriptions stick to ads, but you can also block other web nuisances at the risk of possibly breaking some sites. I like Fanboys Ultimate list...

tried to add Fanboys Ultimate list:
abp:subscribe?location=https://secure.fanboy.co.nz/r/fanboy-ultimate.txt&title=Fanboy Ultimate Adblock

I got:
The webpage cannot be displayed

huh?

Haven't used abp in a long time; forget how you even add a list, but check your formatting. Copy/pasting the url to the list in the appropriate place /should/ work.

Edit:
or switch to uBlock like I said, and mark off a checkbox in the filter settings :^P

Custom block rule in ABP

||facebook.*$domain=~facebook.com|~127.0.0.1

And there no longer are any of those facebook plugins on pages anymore that show you as logged in ready to comment on the article/like the page/etc anymore. Just totally gone. And because it never loads, FB doesn't get a hit that you were there.

Got annoyed at facebook following me a few years ago and dug this up on the internet. Basically it redirects the facebook thingy to your local IP which loads nothing. Has never had any negative effects on the facebook website itself.

FB Purity blocks ads nicely on FB.
I use a Chrome plugin called Disconnect. It's supposed to block all those call backs to FB from others sites.
