Anyone notice how in most EA games, the computer seems to cheat?

Call me bitter, but I have noticed this for quite some time in all of their sports or racing games. I find it hard to believe that the computer can score a touchdown, force a turnover, drive again and kick a field goal with only a minute and a half on the clock. Or when playing NHL 2003 when I am up 3-1 with a minute left the computer scores 3 non power play goals to beat me by 1?

I was just playing NFS:U a few seconds ago, I was playing a 4 lap circuit race on hard... led the entire race but on my final lap, even though I didn't make a single error or touch a wall, the computer passes me in the final turn. I hit my NOS and catch back up to him so he turns hard left and forces me into the wall, only to beat me by 0.17 seconds.

I have a feelng that the EA programmers weren't very good athletes as children, and this is how they make up for it.

lol .. the computer's 2 minute drill for football on all difficulties are funny. they always crack me up.

EA's AI cheats at everything. It's the only way they can win with any reasonable frequency

Infinite NOS in NFS:U
Fast unit/building production in C&C games
etc.

And that "EA GAMES: CHALLENGE EVERYTHING" screen pisses me the hell off - it is SO absurdly loud - I can have the volume at a comfortable listening level and then that comes on and it causes and earthquake.

I've experienced this myself. I remember one time, I had led three (of 4) laps, had a 7 second lead and then at the last lap the car suddenly spun out of control even tho at the moment I didn't even steer. Of course, I hit the wall, went flying in the air and lost the race. Another thing is the traffic, they're like goddamn heat seeking missiles, always on your way, always on your lane.... of course the computer has an occasional crash, but never when you're leading. It's annoying. And no matter how well you drive, no matter how little mistakes you make, the computer WILL catch you up in the last lap.

That said, I just completed that game yesterday. Once you get the Skyline and get all the mods.. it's unbeatable, I played the last races with HARD and I slaughtered the computer.

In NFSU I took the cheat into my own hands... I let it lead and generally it gives you some sort of catchup boost, then proceed to ram the computer off the road. I loved it once when I hit the nitrous on a drag circuit to blow by the guy at the last second. He barely sideswipes me and takes the win.

Yeah, I do hate the computer pressure in the EA sports games... but there's usually a way to crack that AI since they are kind of limited in their "cheats"

That only happens when you play the bedwetters setting. Increase the difficulty!

Yeah I was playing that race on hard. Is there a way to put it on a higher setting than that?

Haha I agree about the traffic. I have been dragging and actually had the computer swerve into my lane for a head on. Maybe he was trying to avoid a squirrel....

In everything but drag mode in NFSU, just steer the car straight and keep on the gas when you hit a car. You'll go straight under the F-250, E-250's, Expeditions and delivery vans. You only have to worry about the blue Caprice Classics.

you don't know ea sports cheating until you've played nba live 2k4, whenever you lead, you'll lose it by missing consecutive dunks and layups (like 5-6 in a row) while the computer opponents, not rated for and heavily guarded will knockdown consecutive 3 pointers.
