The slaves that were the backbone of the whole operation were probably on performance enhancing drugs and hard stims. I need proof that they were natty or else im calling cheats

While they were not slaves, it is presumed that most of the individuals who worked on the pyramids were fulfilling government mandated labor. Taxes were paid through hard labor rather than currency or goods. These individuals were worked extremely hard, but a lot of evidence shows they were highly valued given the efforts made to keep them healthy and treat work-related injuries.

It is also presumed that at least some portion of the workforce were slaves, e.g., POWs, criminals, etc.

Workers would receive rations of beer and food for their efforts. I wonder if they chewed Khat to really get those stones moving :)

The Great Pyramid is amazing. Casting stones with an average gap of 0.5mm, average error between size of bases being 58mm, the base being level to the ground within 15mm, sides aligning with cardinal directions within 4 minutes of arc. Incredible to imagine constructing it to that precision today much less in antiquity.

Maybe the OP would be okay with The Reasonably Decent, Not Too Shabby Pyramid of Cheops?

Even if OP isn't OK with that I would be. Anything that calls itself "Great" is setting the bar awfully high and a big pile of rocks is still just a pile of rocks. It's a really nice pyramid, but it's not so great.

You know when you play that "what would be your super power" game? Mine would be time travel and one of the main reasons is so I could go back in time and see how they built the pyramids.

I'm not sure...what is a pyrimid?

The Egyptian PYRAMIDS are pretty interesting...especially since no one has really figured out how they were actually built. Lots of guesses and speculation...but nothing...concrete.

tsssst. ahhhhh, that's the stuff.

interesting that you use those words. most people believe all the stones were carved, but to achieve that level of precision, only consistently cast blocks would be technologically feasible. analysis of some excisions of the blocks reveal unnatural material structures only achievable by purposeful mixing (e.g. human-created). that isn't to say that ALL blocks were cast, but certainly some (many/most?) were.

The entire enterprise was a giant pyramid scheme. It took really big stones to pull off.

I am now going with the "aliens on roids" theory.

I would be super impressed if they were built last week, let alone thousands of years ago.

I think the second large space they found is the remains of another grand gallery that connected to the space right behind the Chevron and was used like the main gallery to haul stones up to the higher level of the pyramids.

I've added a rough drawing in red. Also in the documentary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wg8NXjEmr0 they mention the big void that angles down toward the small void not as shown in that picture.

Here is a better view.

Supposedly the pyramid had smooth slopes on all sides. Crap wore off later. Also it used to have a kick ass crown.
