Anyone not get the WinXp Preview yet?

I believe they send out notice for people to download at different times, I saw on different forums where people were able to download it but some were not. I signed up for it as well and got the notification last night.

Just go to microsoft's site and you can join the preview program on their XP page(I believe you still can).

Did anyone else like me order the CD? I didnt want to download it cuz im on a 28.8 connection, so I ordered the CD, did anyone else order the CD and recieve it yet?

I received my notification last night, and d-loaded it. It comes as an .iso so I will burn a copy when I get home from work tonight. It was a tad over 500 megs. I'm actually afraid to put it on my 2K server box, so I may wait until I get my LAN box built and use it as the guinea pig.

Ok, I have &quot;obtained&quot; it.

I have never &quot;obtained&quot; software like this before, ie., even my PKzip is paid for and licensed, so I don't know the normal procedure.

While I plan to buy WinXP, it is not for sale yet...so, can someone PM and tell my dumbass what to do when it asks me for the CD key during the install?

Good to hear. I signed up for three licenses for it and still have not heard anything yet. Wonder how they're sending the e-mails? Alphabetically? Date of sign-up?

I signed up around the Office XP release date (June 1), and I have received my email from Microsoft. Unfortunately, I ordered the CD (56K dialup!), so I have to wait. The email says I should be receiving the CD by mid-July...just in time to install it on my new PC I hope.

My guess is that Microsoft is notifying people in batches so they don't get a huge bandwidth hit from every one of 100,000 previewers trying to download at once.

if you are going to use Norton System Works with it - get the updated symevent file from Symantec

is there a way if you ordered the CD to download it instead? I'm on a 56k modem, so I didnt wanna download it, but seeing how I will be getting it in Mid July, and I still havent recieved my email yet, I'd be better off downloading it then.

I signed up around mid-April, and I haven't gotten my email yet either... I'm getting annoyed, personally. I've talked to a few people who signed up 2 days ago and got their stuff already!!!

I signed up on Monday as well! Wonder when I'll get my email.

I am on dial up but I signed up to download it anyway. I figure why not? I have to download RC2, no choice on that one, and I will get RC1 quicker by downloading it vs. them sending a cd.

I just wished they sent cd's for both RC's that would have been great!


also where do they send your email too? your hotmail address?

actually when I signed up it didn't ask me for an email
it just told me that I had to login with my passport which is my hotmail address.

just got off the phone with the bank and I have already been charged by microsoft for the program.
