What's so weird about that? And, if he were local, I'd buy them all for that price; they're usually around $1.40

Wow, quick calculation; that's be almost the perfect number for a foundation of a small cabin back by the creek.

Okay, but as far as these cinder blocks go, there isn't anything I need to know about them before I start my project?

I'm no expert. Perhaps you could search your local Craigslist for someone selling the materials in your area? They are sure to know.
 
I read somewhere you have to pick them up and move them yourself.
Do you think that a tarp would be okay to protect the hood of my car or would I need a piece of plywood to keep the cinder blocks from scratching it? Do these blocks have sharp edges? The pics aren't very clear. I wonder if the seller could send me some better pics.
