And a good way to obtain clear bacon grease is to cook them in the oven, rather than in a skillet. Very easy to do, and it does not splatter grease everywhere and stink up the kitchen. I use some cookie cooling rack thingies, placing the bacon on top. I set that in an edged baking sheet lined with foil. Cook @ 400 for 20-25 minutes depending on the thickness and how well you like your bacon done.
The fat drops down to the foil, and can easily be poured when cooled a bit. Comes out very clean and clear.
