Anyone made a case out of a wood box?

I might be doing this. If anyone has done this, input would be much appreciated!
So, what I have:
Athlon 1800+
Shuttle AK35GT2
256MB PC2100@PC2700
SK-7 on Cybercooler 80mm fan (not great temps, but not not bad)
GF4 Ti 4200 @ 300/610 (600 summer, 610 fall, 620 winter)
NIC
20GB WD HD. May go to 40GB soon.
HP 10x/4x/24x burner
Modded Enlight 300w PSU.
Palo Alto mid tower w/ MicronPC front plate (restrictive airflow!)
About $120 to spend. Case + box + PSU + fans should make it tight.

What I'm thinking about:
-Browse flee markets and antique stores (the good dusty ones where everything is just sittin' around) for a wooden box to hold it all. Preferably a large beer case, but I'm not going to be too picky.
-Get SLK-800 or AX-7 (AX-7 if I can find it), and move to the SK-7 to a machine that can run hot just fine (TBird 1.2) and that quiet is even more of a concern. Duct the SLK-800 or AX-7.
-Get Fortron 300w PSU. Why not?

-Make two exhaust holes + one for PSU. Preferably 1x80mm and 1x120mm (2x120mm would require too big a box--but I'm not ordering fans until I get it all--if I do this).
Get new nice case for neighbor, use his current back machine case for mobo tray (discontinued Enlight that has a tray so you don't have to remove cards to get the mobo out).
-Get something to coat the inner space of the box to try to keep static down. No clue as to what I should use, or if having a few wirse around attached to unused areas of wood would do the trick.

-Get feet to prop it up an nch or so above the floor.
-Cut out space for mobo tray back and a big front-bottom air inlet.
-Cut out space for CDROM drive. I may make a stealth door for it to make it easier on myself. Mounting the drive will be a snap w/ my old erector set. I just checked with an actual CDROM drive, and I have the needed pieces :)

-Drill LED space, and use plastic cylinders to make it look nice. I can get this done, just will have to ask around at the hardware store to find out what exactly I need (I've seen 'em before, but don't recall anything else)
-Drill space for power and reset switches. Also simple.
-Get fans. I'll have a fan controller (I'm thinking about building it into the case, one of the 'cool' factors to this), so may get some medium airflow ones and dial them down. probably a Panaflo M for CPU duct if I can manage it [and an 80mm just in case the duct doesn't do so well]).

-Use an old 3.5" drive cage for my HD(s). Use soft rubber to mount them so they can't transfer the vibrations too much. Mount near air intake for obvious reasons.
-Secure LEDs with silicone rubber
-Install burner in removeable bracket. I'll have to browse the hardware store to see how to go about this.
-Have a ground wire from burner, HD cage and mobo tray going to the PSU.

Any ideas/hints/tips/warnings? Also, what other forums, aside from Bit-Tech's, which I will probably go to as I get actual parts for this, should I browse around and ask questions at?

Yeah, for more money than I have in the bank. not to mention I'd not buy one if I did have the money.

i'd get cable extentions and route all the cabling thru a small hole in the back rather than trying to make a panel for them. i didn't see that mentioned up there. kinda like that trick r/c car case someone did a ways back.

The Enlight case mentioned has a mobo tray that includes the backplate for mobo connections and the expansion slots. Basically like their newer ones that have the same, except that this one (I think it's the 7100) fits a full sized ATX board.

Not too sure, but since I'll rarely ever remove it (only on failure/upgrade, really), I just need to secure it. Worst case I'll make a couple screw holes on the inside portion.

There's no way I can get the expansion slots done right, so the need for a tray including them, but except for that I'm pretty confident.
