Marked.

I'm not too much interested in this but enough that I want to try the demo. I don't have a joystick that's needed for a sim and I'm not sure I'd want a true sim anyway. Hopefully this is a good mix of sim and arcade. Also hope my 360 controller works sufficiently for flying.

Couldn't imagine trying to play this with a keyboard. Works well with my XBox 360 controller.

Yeah that's what I was saying earlier the 360 controller works better than even joysticks imo. (especially now that I've tried both my HOTAS setup and played with the 360 controller)

The thumb sticks and triggers feel intuitive given that the Assistance Off mode is basically like an RC airplane.

Yes and the planes aren't flown from a 3rd person satellite camera like a remote control airplane either... I'm guessing you haven't played the game yet?

Who said anything about flying in 3rd person? I like cockpit view.

As he said, you haven't played the demo yet. You don't get a choice.

I finished the demo and I've got zero interest in it now. Bleh. Pontifex is right on this one.

This game is what I have been waiting for..not perfect..but lots of fun. I am useing my CH Fighterstick and it does the job nicely. The quick flip turn portion of the demo is not easy..but can be done if you stick with it and follow the instructions that flashed up on your screen. There is a button that you can use to change your view in normal play..but not in the [ quick flip turn portion of the demo ] unfortunately. I'm not going to be too critical of the game..it's lots of fun..it works great on my PC..no weird glitches like some of my other purchases have had..and they came out with a workable demo before the games release date [ something should be said for that ]. I hope the multiplayer portion of this game pans out.

Last flying game I played was Crimson Skies:laugh:. This could be fun I guess...looking forward to reading reviews.

I can't do hardcore flight sims.

I loved that game for the PC! I do remember it not working for some reason in Windows XP, I'll see if I can find the disc and make it work in Vista.

Have to say from one of those earlier trailers, looks like a damn fun arcade game..

Can anyone remember "Incoming"? Got that free with my 16mb Creative Labs Riva TNT1 card and it was great!

For all those not bothering to read the thread and complaining about it not being a sim, it's got a freaking X in the title. X as in "xtreme!". There's no way anybody could call this a sim.

As for the game itself, I liked the demo onc I got used to 3rd person mode. I'll grab it when it hits $20.

Well, on Amazon.co.uk this game is only £19 or $26.76 USD according to www.xe.com at release (PC) and on Steam its £35 or $lots more.

I was a bit so-so with the Demo on my first play (did the harder mission first) and then on the second play, I did the tutorial mission and then the second mission and enjoyed the whole experience so much more.

Maxxed on on DX10.1 (yes, 10.1) @ 1920x1080 on a 47" HD TV, it didnt drop below 60 FPS on my 512mb HD4870 (good port?).

Released at a bargain price..... certainly worth a go I reckon.

I thought it was fairly entertaining. The training mission in the demo forces you into the satellite view but the following mission lets you work from within the cockpit.

Hopefully the full game missions let you choose. That satellite view was infuriating. The second mission was cool but I don't get any sense of speed. Might not get much in real life but it's not like this is a sim. I think it's worth the $25 if you can get a 5-6 hours out of it.

The demo is now available for download in which I did.
The game itself is not exactly a flight sim per se but it's lot of fun flying around and blow up stuffs at will and on sight.
It feels more like an arcade flight sim rather than the actual flight sim like Lockon.
Will decide later on whether or not I should get the full game version in which it should be released later this month for the PC version.

360 Review: http://gamespot.com/xbox360/ac...s_reviews&subj=6205791

UK PC Release Date: 20th March (Got my pre-order with Amazon. Half the price of Steam)

Supports DX10 and 10.1. No idea on specifics but both are supported in the PC demo.

To answer that question, you'd have to wait until the game was released and played for a couple of weeks to get some meaningful statistics in the bank.

Cool read on the 360 review.

Thanks for the info. I can't buy from Amazon UK :( but I've got a free copy of Blazing Angels when I pre-ordered it on steam.
