I live in St. pete, largo actually but have lived in tampa and still go to USF....but I like the whole tampa bay area. not too big not too hick.

Lilcam I would reccommed against Akron....I was born there. I'm just not a big fan of ohio.

Born and raised... I know St Pete/Largo very well (lived on both sides of the bay). Got my AA at SPC when it was SPJC before going to USF... I'll be at USF this summer and beyond, working on my MA in Special Ed.

Maybe we can meet up at the next area AT meeting! I need to see what's up with yakko, maybe we can come up with something soon (I have the summer off, thank goodness).

Arizona is colder than FL in all but the summer, and when it warms up, it doesn't feel nearly as hot because of the lower humidity. My brother moved there and loves it.

I don't see a big crime problem though, I've lived here all my life. Now traffic, that can get pretty bad at times.

The worst crimes are usually at apartments and are due to drunk college kids. I work for the Army's Simulation Training and Instrumentation PEO. There are a good amount of tech jobs here, mostly dealing with simulation/defense. Lockheed Martin has two large campuses in Orlando, and pretty much every other company in that field you can think of is here. The weather is nice (although a little too hot) and there is always a lot to do. The job market is tough eveywhere, but is no worse in Orlando.

I was just up in Huntsville, AL a few weeks ago for work. I like it up there. Nice weather, mountains, etc. The job market there is very similiar to here due to the defense jobs in/around Redstone Arsenal.

You think Florida is nice now? You should have been there 30+ years ago. It was God's own land then. Trust me, it's New York City South now.

By the way, I lived in Polk, Hillsborough and Sarasota counties in FL, and my best friends currently live in Orange, Volusia and Brevard Counties, so I think I have a pretty good idea of what the state is like.

It's a good place to be if you're young (18- 25) or old (70+), but anywhere in between with a family is no good anymore. Crime, drugs, gangs have all become common place. Just watch the news and you'll see. It used to be unheard of.
