I woke up at 12:30am to some crazy loud crackling thunder I thought some shvt was going down...(we Los Angelenos are not used to thunder. I only remember hearing thunder a couple times in my life. And it wasn't as loud as last night)

Weird thing was, there was no rain. Any ideas wtf?

A thunderstorm maybe?

I've lived on islands in the Pacific, Florida, and Illinois most of my life. It mystifies me how people in LA (especially those driving on the freakin' 405) go completely go completely ape$hit when they see/hear/smell rain.

I know... I'm so used to them by now I can fall asleep to them... 🙂

What part of "there was no rain" don't you people understand?

It wasn't crazy thunder, it was just thunder.
It didn't rain on the westside, but it ended up raining further west, by San Gabriel.

What part of "see/hear/smell" don't you people understand? Just 'cause it wasn't raining on you doesn't mean it wasn't raining elsewhere.

BTW, I heard the thunder last night in Redondo Beach. I wasn't asleep yet, and it was pretty faint. I was able to contain myself and refrained from going ape$******.

im in West LA, and it was some loud loud $hit last night!! It drizzled a little too where I lived. I could've sworn lightning hit the apt. complex, cause it was loud as fudge.

WLA / SM area here and I heard what sounded like small nukes. A small amt of rain too.

I did, and it was loud. I didn't believe it: Lightning in california?
yeah, LA != California. People in northern california don't declare national state of emergency when it thunders
