Never forget.
nah, somewhere where you can buy 100 acres for the price of renting an NYC apartment for a few years
OR I can live in NYC, enjoy all things the city can offer while working at a good company that gives me good salary in accordance of higher cost of living AND save more $$ / come out on top than former two choices.
No s**t, did you just compare the highest living cost place to a lowest living cost one? You sure are genius, why didn't people think of this!?
Hey I can also live in a bumf**k nowhere in Texas and f**k cows for living for $20k a year. Then I come home everynight to NOTHING, sh***y food, and bang my head against the wall as my leisure.
Nvm, I can go buy a block of whole neighborhood for $3,000 in Detroit, then get stabbed on that very night.

Sorry does not compute.
You can live in a surb of a major city in TX such as Dallas, Austin, etc. and you can get almost anything like NYC, well, maybe not the high rent/cost of living and traffic and taxes and end up much better financially. Don't get me wrong, I love NYC and surrounding area as a place to visit but not to spend the rest of my life there, I need some space between me and other human beings.
I have been to NYC a few times (love to visit whenever I can) and even had a job offer to move there but I turned it down.
NYC is for people who can deal with the pace and number of people, this is of course not everyone.
I'd rather cut off my left testicle with a rusty pitchfork than have to live in NYC.
FTFY
Oh wait...in NYC, somebody would do that for you.
New Yorkers all suffer from a disease that makes them think living in a cramped, over priced, crime ridden, stinking landscape of concrete and steel is preferable to living anywhere else on the planet. I guess it all works out because no one else would live there.

Crime ridden? Try Detroit, St. Louis, Baltimore, and Memphis if you want to see crime ridden hell holes. NYC is comparatively safe ranked against pretty much all the other urban areas in the country.

where were you before NYC?
This is the biggest misunderstanding of NYC. And I don't blame ya since I thought the same thing before I moved here (less than a year).
It's not crime ridden at all. I've never felt unsafe in the city once even at night.
