Anyone live around Jersey City? A question!

If you live in Jersey City and don't have a walking access to PATH to NYC, what do you do?

Just drive to PATH and park there? How much is parking and is there ample free parking space nearby? (doubt it).

Jersey City is like three blocks of gentrification then you hit the end of civilization as we know it. As soon as you hit the check cashing place it's the wild west.

Moral: Yeah, drive.

I do, in fact!

it really depends on what area you're talking about and when.

I work in downtown Jersey City, right around Exchange Place... on a Saturday/Sunday morning, you can usually drive straight in and park on the street within 2-3 blocks of the PATH (note, there's a 1-block "no parking" radius around the station). ditto for Grove Street, right down the road.

you could conceivably do the same thing Monday-Friday, but you'd need the appropriate residential sticker (which isn't in effect on weekends). otherwise, you're looking at $15-$25/day for parking depending on the lot.

during the week, I usually just suck it up and walk the 1 mile, or I'll drive to Harrison and pay $7/day for parking if the weather is really terrible.

Good stuff!

I may PM you for further questions. But parking during snow storm is impossible, which is not reliable for daily commute to work in NYC.
