I'm not a big soda drinker, but I made an impulse buy at the cafeteria and got a steaz lemon lime sparkling green tea drink. it's good for the first few sips but i can't finish an entire bottle ( i normally can't finish a 12 oz coke either). it's got a nice green tea taste and nice carbonation but i think it's way too sweet.

i've noticed alot of other soda companies lately offering good alternatives to coke and pepsi. which ones are your favorites?

Probably can't find any of these in your local store but....original formula Dr. Pepper, Plantation Style Mint Julep, and Fentimans Curiosity Cola. I think they are all made with sugar not HFCS if that matters to you.

I use to get them at Galco's when I lived in Southern California but they were pricey.

I don't drink much pop, but I do enjoy Jarrito's Guava or Jarrito's Piña. Otherwise I very much enjoy the Grape that White Castle has, I believe it's Crush, but It's been a while since there is not one near my house or near where I work.

I tried a Steaz fruit flavored tea once, but didn't like it. It tasted like the fruit flavored Alka Seltzer Plus Cold medicine.

Boylan. Birchbeer in particular, black cherry is good too. So good, I wish I could find a cheap source for them online.

Never heard of Steaz.
I believe the whole alt.drink market has been flourishing for several years now.

I just recently discovered real ginger ale, brewed with ginger root and cane sugar. Here's a couple specialty ales I like so far.

The ginger beer has too much ginger (extra 7 g) - more bite than flavor, unfortunately.

Smucker's makes this Natural Brew label stuff.

All these are sparkling/carbonated and far beyond Canada Dry. Typically marketed with key words like "vintage, natural, tonic, brew, handcrafted".
$2/bottle is probably high end price.

There's a ginger beer from Australia that's great. The only place I ever saw it was a particular fish and chips vendor from a highland games, but I always looked forward to it. It had a rip off top on the bottle like an old school Mickeys big mouth, and a great taste. The name's kind of German, but I can never remember what it is. I looked into ordering online once, but shipping glass bottles of liquid is too expensive. I haven't had it in years :^(

Blenheim ginger ale and ginger beer are also excellent, though their #3 Hot is a real throat scorcher.
