Anyone like sleeping on the floor?

Mai72

Lifer
Sometimes I'll get so tired that I'll just pass out on my floor. Right in front of my bed. I don't have a blanket or even a pillow. I'll just pass out on the floor.

Anyone do the same?

My favorite bed was a fiber stuffed futon I used directly on the floor. I quit using it a lomg time ago cause it didn't go with my bedroom set, but I prefer it to a spring mattress.

I had a futon for many years. Having sex on it was difficult though. Lol

I used to vastly prefer the floor (with a nice carpet/pad), but last year I seriously injured my back lifting a vehicle off two people that had been run over/crushed.

Now a nice firm surface with a few inches of soft on top is the way to go, or a firm surface with a bunch of pillows I can adjust as needed.

Because the government is sh!t I'm required to pay $115/month for no medical, and then my family made me pay something like $400-600 to see some idiot to tell me I had hurt my back. I'd love to see a real doctor, who can actually determine the problem, and hopefully have a cure (or at least some method of improvement).

But I'm poor, so I don't matter.

The floor and a small pillow is comfortable for short naps at times but thats about it

Huh - doesn't match my memories but at the time I was having sex on a futon I was also having sex in the back of a chevy cavalier so my difficult bar might have been set differently

...?

I can sleep anywhere, BUT I need something to raise my head so it's in line with my spine seeing how I sleep on my side.

Can't say I've ever done it but if I'm tired enough I can sleep pretty much anywhere. If I'm not tired I find it harder to get comfortable enough to sleep.

Can't think of any situation where I had to sleep in a weird location though. Maybe camping, but even then I always bring an air mattress and don't sleep directly on the ground. There's one year I forgot my pillow, that kinda sucked. I need something to keep my head stable or it just feels so awkward, like I'm going to fall off.

Once upon a time, a carpeted floor was fine for me. Nowadays, with all my "normal" day-to-day aches and pains...if I slept on the floor, I'd never be able to get up by myself...
"Hey Joe, swing that crane over here so we can lift this fat cripple to his feet!"

I sleep on the floor sometimes, but usually when I have a sore back and usually in my living room - naps. Never for a whole night. Feels good though.

I don't know how people sleep on the floor. It's just not possible to get comfortable. You're all weirdos.

Uh, if you are regularly passing out on the floor because you don't have the energy to make it 2 more feet to the bed that sounds like a medical problem.

I will sleep on the floor with my legs elevated sometimes when I am particularly sore from running or when I have a slightly strained back. Otherwise no.

What kind of vehicle? A small cart or a truck? And why the fuck was there no thread about this? That's the kind of cool story that's perfect for ATOT.

I sometimes would prefer the floor when it was spinning slower than the bed.

If anyone has back pain, then, sleeping on floor or a very firm mattress is the ONLY way you will get some relief. You must sleep on your back, or side, and put a pillow under your knees or between them if on the side.

Yeah, you actually feel more sore for the first couple of days, but then, your back pain begins to get better, and you get used to sleeping on a hard surface.
I know quite a few people that did that, and now, they don't need weekly chiropractor appointments / monthly doctor visits of getting shots. They saved a ton of $$$.

The main issue of the floor is, it is too low (duh) for lots of people.

If you are from Japan you would be used to sleeping on the floor.

Or former Japanese occupied territories.

I never did and I don't think I could without at least a pillow. Also I wake up aching a bit if I sleep on a hard surface (i.e. anything without those wood things to suspend the mattress).

I'm sure it's just a matter of getting used to it, plenty of people around the world just sleep on a mat.

I've been grumbling here about taking care of my family member "humpty dumpty" for the past year (July 25th 2016, just after 10:00 AM). The other kid that got squashed I really don't care about, didn't look for updates...their injuries were relatively minor in comparison anyway.

I may have made a thread, but I don't think I posted any serious details if I did. I've learned that the mods will attack for the slightest hint of anything that might possibly be upsetting to somebody somewhere. In fact I could probably get an infraction for saying that too, but I'm not sure how else to word it. Anyway, the point is that severe medical trauma is a no go for this forum. I think I can say this though, humpty dumpty had limbs smashed off...the other kid just gained an extra joint and played contortionist. I've got basic medical training and I knew lives were in danger, and what I needed to do...unfortunately I didn't have enough strength or proper form to safely lift what I did.

Oh hell no maybe 20 years ago. Used to do a lot of backpacking slept on roots rocks mud you name it but something about a sleeping on a bare floor is evil. Although I did fall asleep in a bathroom floor one news years eve.
