Anyone like me have problems with the 16x cyberdrive from BB this weekend?

My friend got one of the 16x cyberdrives this weekend from the bb deal, and we have not been able to get it to work properly. adaptec 5.0 and Nero 5.5 did not detect the drive as a cdrw and thus would not burn anything. It did however work copying cd to cd with clone cd. It also was not detected by win xp. What's the problem? And the damn green led doesn't stop blinking. Does anyone know how to fix this peice of crap. Thanks for all your help.

I had a different problem. It was recognized as a burner, but only a 4x. So it went back and I got the cendyne (rebadged liteon) 24x from officedepot. More expensive but worth it.
