Anyone like Guinness?

It's okay. I like the local Black Butte microbrews around here better.
Nice to see you've expanded beyond Corona Nik 😉

Tonight I will have a Bridgeport Stout (damn good Stout).

Guinness is also very good, but I generally only order it when I'm out of state (Oregon) at places that dont have other good beer. Fortunetly for me there are 1000+ microbrews right here 😀

Guiness is my absolute favorite alcoholic drink.

I have a small hypothesis, true in about 95% of the situations I've been in. If you're got any Irish or Scottish in you, you'll like Guiness. If you don't, you'll dislike it. Only been shown wrong about 3 times.

(Of course, the easiest way to get any idea disproved or laughed at is to post it on OT 😛 )

I had guinness, calamara scallops, shrimp and fish all deep fried at Barbaras in Prinston by the Sea just a few days ago. Man the light on the Pacific and the fishing boats, the guinness came straight from heaven.

Not even down in your grandparents or further back? I don't mean you have to be from the area, your relatives can be too.

My sister is going to school there, does that qualify?

Other than that I'm German, Polish and Italian.

Guinness is meant to be drank warm, like any lager, and so you're not unusual at all 🙂

I had a Boddington's earlier this week and a Tetley's yesterday. Both are very good. I must say I really enjoyed the Tetley's stout immensely.

Or if your parents were former residents of the British Empire (my folks are from India...we all love Guinness!!)

Forgot to say I'm part Scottish and I love the stuff. Best with a tasty meal, imho.

Yea, but it's easy to "like" things a shot glass full at a time 😀

Anyhow, I've got like ZIPPO scottish or irish in me and I like guiness but I have to be in a certain mood for it. I'm 17 so i don't have "casual drinking in a friendly environment while eating a good meal and watching the game" moments too often, so i usually only drink guiness when my daddy buys it for me.

Guinness is yummy, but it's definitely a meal beer, not a cool you off beer. If you like Guiness, try some Saratoga Black & Tan, thats some yummy stuff too, I actually like it better the guinness.

If you want a yummy random drink by itself beer, try a Sam Adams cream stout, those are quality stuff
