Anyone konw anything about traffic violations?

My brother bought a car today and didn't register it at the dealership. Well I wouldn't call it a dealership because it was some hole in the wall. Needless to say, he left with registering it and getting a temp tag. He then proceeded to drive home and was pulled over and given a ticket for no registration and insurance but he has insurance that is the solved. Anyone know the consequence of the no registration. he was told that he must appear in court in a month? Any one know the consequence of that violation? Lost license or fine or what?

no reg is usually just a fine and PROOF that he now has reg.

if he gets the vehicle registered and goes to court, apologizes and shows the registration, chances are they will let him off.

he will not not go to jail in any case... the worst is a fine.

KarenMarie is spot on. Show up on the court date with a receipt or proof of purchase in hand showing the car was purchased that day and plead his case. He'll be fine.

He's still probably going to have to pay the fine.
