GFWL is just a nasty mess that microsoft is trying to force on to gamers and I can't stand it, for much the same reason I can't stand Origin either, for store bought games or games delivered through alternative digitial distribution methods like steam this sort of stuff needs to be OPTIONAL.

I loved Batman Arkham City, i thought it was an absolutely amazing game and love every minute of it, one of the superiour console to PC ports which I bothtered to complete 100%

I won't touch Arkham City because of GFWL, I won't even buy this game once it hits bargin prices on steam even when it's £1.99. I just cannot support this shit I've bought a few games that rely on it in the past and had nothing but regrets, so enough is enough.

Bloatware = no sale, PERIOD.

What kind of graphics horsepower will be needed to run games on that thing @ 60fps? Granted this won't be out for several more years in a consumer form, I would think tri 680s could handle it if we look at 2560x1600 numbers on today's games.

Well, the article is old and says Pioneer doesn't have any commercial plans. It is probably just a proof of concept. I don't see these types of displays being available before the ultra-res TV's come out.

2560x1600 is actually 4 million pixels so approximately twice the horse power to run at the same settings. It's actually very similar to the jump between 1920x1080 and 2560x1600 because that is approximately double as well.

Today you can power a 2560x1600 screen with pretty much a single GTX580 or above because modern games aren't seeing any real graphical improvements. So probably something like SLI 680's would deal with that panel quite nicely.

I was looking at 4k medical monitors around 4 years ago that cost around $50k. Right now you can get a basic 4k projector for around $14k if you want to cheat. A good proper 4k LED projector will run you around $60k.

Thanks to current TVs it's going to take another 5 years easy for manufacturing to catch up.
